The Adeje by D'Torres® sandal is born from the artisan tradition of Elche to offer women a footwear solution that combines contemporary aesthetics with the highest podiatric performance. Crafted in premium adaptable bovine leather, it is specifically indicated for women with wide feet, bunions, plantar fasciitis or diabetic foot.

Materials and construction

Outer upper

Crafted in adaptable bovine leather with natural tanning. Its wide-fitting design facilitates accommodation of foot deformities such as hallux valgus (bunions) and hammer toes, without creating pressure points. The internal seams are fully protected and padded, eliminating the risk of rubbing, blistering and skin erosions in sensitive feet or those affected by peripheral neuropathy.

onSteam® inner lining

The interior is lined with the technical microfibre onSteam®, a next-generation fibre with a 100% leather-like feel that offers:

• High breathability and active moisture management.
• Bacteriostatic effect, reducing the risk of fungal infections.
• Soft, non-abrasive touch — essential for skin affected by hyperkeratosis or dermatitis.

NubeFit™ removable anatomical insole

The sandal incorporates the NubeFit™ insole, exclusive to D'Torres®, designed on three biomechanical engineering principles:

• Shock-absorbing: viscoelastic core that absorbs impact at the forefoot and heel, reducing articular load on the knee and hip.
• Stabilising: anatomical heel cup that controls pronation and improves alignment of the tibio-talar axis.
• Anti-slip: textured base that ensures the foot remains secure within the shoe, preventing forefoot slide.

Being fully removable, it can be replaced with a bespoke orthopaedic insole prescribed by your podiatrist or orthotist, without compromising the fit of the footwear.

Sole

Sole of rigid construction manufactured in technical anti-slip rubber. The controlled rigidity of the sole limits excessive forefoot flexion, particularly benefiting patients with metatarsalgia, chronic plantar fasciitis or diabetic foot with neuropathy.

Fastening system

Double adjustable Velcro straps at heel and instep. Allows progressive and individualised adjustment, adapting to variations in foot volume throughout the day (evening oedema, lipoedema, venous insufficiency).

Yes. The NubeFit™ insole is fully removable, allowing you to insert custom orthopaedic insoles made by your podiatrist or orthotist. The extra-wide last ensures that the internal volume is not compromised when making the exchange.

Is this sandal suitable for diabetic foot?

The Adeje D'Torres® sandal is manufactured according to therapeutic footwear criteria for diabetic foot: no aggressive internal seams, soft low-friction onSteam® lining, rigid sole that reduces shear forces on the plantar surface, and a wide last with no compression points. It is compatible with the DiabCare® range protocols. We nonetheless always recommend supervision by your podiatrist or diabetic foot specialist.

How should I clean and maintain this sandal?

Clean the leather exterior with a damp cloth and a cleaner specifically formulated for natural leather. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or heat sources to preserve the flexibility of the material. The NubeFit™ insole can be removed to air or cleaned separately with a slightly damp cloth. Allow to dry at room temperature before reinserting.
